The French Bulldog's origins trace back to 19th-century England, where lace workers in Nottingham bred miniature Bulldogs as companions. When many of these artisans emigrated to France, they brought their little dogs — and the rest is history.
In France, the breed quickly became fashionable among Parisian society — artists, café owners, and high-society ladies all fell for that distinctive bat ear and wrinkled brow. By the early 1900s, the French Bulldog had captured hearts across the Atlantic too.

The Frenchie Personality: What You're Really Getting

Knowing the Health Landscape
As a brachycephalic breed, Frenchies have some unique health considerations. A responsible breeder minimizes risk — and an informed owner makes all the difference.
Breathing (BOAS)
Frenchies can experience brachycephalic airway syndrome. We select breeding dogs with open nostrils and good airways to minimize this risk.
Spinal Health
IVDD is a concern in the breed. We health test all parents for spinal issues and use responsible breeding practices to reduce risk.
Heat Sensitivity
Due to their short snout, Frenchies overheat easily. They need shade, cool water, and limited exercise in warm weather.
Eye Health
Their prominent eyes can be prone to irritation. Regular cleaning and vet checks keep those beautiful eyes healthy.
Allergies & Skin
Some Frenchies experience skin fold dermatitis or food sensitivities. Proper diet and skincare go a long way.
